USE OF COOKIES

This website uses cookies to make its services simple and efficient for users. Users who view the site will have small amounts of information stored on the devices they use — whether computers or mobile devices — in small text files called “cookies”, which are saved in the directories used by the user’s web browser. There are various types of cookies: some are used to make the site’s use more effective, others to enable certain functionalities. In detail, our cookies allow us to:
  • store the preferences you enter;
  • avoid having to re-enter the same information multiple times during your visit, such as username and password;
  • analyze the use of the services and content provided in order to optimize the browsing experience and the services offered.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the user’s device (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be sent back to the same site the next time the same user visits it. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some cookie functions may be carried out using other technologies as well. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ refers both to cookies strictly speaking and to similar technologies. Through cookies it is possible to record information related to your preferences, such as the pages you visit or the download of files from our site or other similar actions carried out while browsing our site.

FIRST-PARTY OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Cookies can be either first-party or third-party. “First-party” means cookies developed by the owner of the site itself, while “third-party” means cookies developed by parties other than the site owner.

NATURE OF COOKIES

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types: Technical cookies: technical cookies are used solely for the purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see Art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Privacy Code). They are not used for any other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or manager. They can be divided into: – Browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, purchases to be made or users to log in to access restricted areas); these cookies are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site; – Analytical cookies, which are similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, about the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve site performance; – Functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (e.g., language, selected products for purchase) in order to improve the service provided. The installation of such cookies does not require the prior consent of users (more information in the Cookie Management section below). Profiling cookies Profiling cookies are used to link specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the offered functionalities (patterns) to specific identified or identifiable subjects, in order to group the different profiles within homogeneous clusters of different sizes, so that the owner can also modulate the provision of the service in an increasingly personalised way beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service, as well as send targeted advertising messages, i.e. in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web. In the case of third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings or the sites indicated in the section ‘Accepting and waiving cookies’. You are therefore invited to check the third party site indicated below.

DURATION OF COOKIES

Cookies have a duration determined by their expiration date (or by a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time of installation. Cookies can be:
  • Temporary or session cookies: these are used to store temporary information, allow you to link actions carried out during a specific session, and are removed from your device when you close the browser;
  • Persistent cookies: these are used to store information, such as your login name and password, so that you do not have to re-enter them every time you visit a specific site. These remain stored on your device even after you close the browser.
Session cookies, once the connection to this website ends, are not retained. The IT systems used by this site make use of both temporary and persistent cookies (to be completed — check with the site administrator).

ACCEPTANCE AND REFUSAL OF COOKIES

For the installation of technical and analytical cookies, user consent is not required. Profiling cookies or other tracking tools, however, can only be used if the user has given their consent after being informed. This website uses a banner that allows users to give their consent if they wish. If the user does not wish to give consent, they can close the banner by selecting the X button at the top right of the banner itself, keeping the default settings that do not allow the use of cookies or other tracking tools other than technical cookies. If they wish, users can also manage cookies directly through their browser settings. However, deleting cookies from the browser may remove the preferences set for this site, so it is recommended that you visit this page periodically to review your choices.
